Strix Air

A Ukrainian deftech manufacturer producing the Air Baby anti-Shahed interceptor drone in serial quantities, alongside FPV strike systems.

Strix Air is a Ukrainian defence-technology manufacturer that has moved its Air Baby interceptor drone into serial production. The Air Baby is built to chase down Shahed and Geran-type loitering drones: the company reports a top speed of around 280 km/h, an operating ceiling of up to five kilometres and a 500-gram warhead. It is offered through the Brave1 marketplace at prices the company says run about 30 percent below comparable systems — roughly 36,000 hryvnia with a daytime camera and 58,000 with a thermal imager — and Ukrainian units have reported their first combat shoot-downs with it. The company’s wider line includes bombers and FPV strike drones, and it has built a training version of the Air Baby for operator instruction.

Strix Air should not be confused with STRIX, a separate Ukrainian bureau associated with longer-range deep-strike and autonomous strike systems. The two are distinct companies that share a similar name. Strix Air’s interceptor sits within Ukraine’s crowded anti-Shahed field, alongside systems such as Wild Hornets ’ Sting and Fire Point ’ Freya. The manufacturer has also reported interest from abroad, including requests from the United Arab Emirates and other Middle Eastern states.
