Robin
Image-intelligence AI that detects, classifies, and identifies objects of military interest in high-resolution optical satellite imagery, with pattern-of-life alerting.
Softwareby Safran.AI
Robin is the flagship image-intelligence product of Safran.AI , the French geospatial-AI house formerly known as Preligens. It applies deep-learning models to extremely-high-resolution and very-high-resolution optical satellite imagery to detect, classify, and identify objects of military interest — aircraft, vessels, vehicles, and infrastructure — across far more imagery than analysts could review by hand. Rather than replace the analyst, Robin watches strategic sites continuously and raises change and pattern-of-life alerts, cueing a human toward what has moved or appeared since the last pass.
The tool underpins Safran.AI’s work for the French armed forces, including the imagery side of the DGA’s joint-intelligence programmes. Within NATO’s wider move toward AI-enabled intelligence fusion, Robin is positioned less as a rival to Palantir ’s Maven Smart System than as a detection layer that can feed into it — and the kind of sovereign European geospatial-AI capability that France’s Arcadia battlefield programme draws on.
