Ukrainian drone wreckage and an unmanned boat recovered in Turkish Black Sea territory

Published 15 August 2026

Drone wreckage fell into a garden in Düzde province on Turkey’s Black Sea coast; an unmanned surface vessel was separately recovered 500 m from shore in Artvin province. Russian milbloggers note a pattern of Ukrainian drone parts — some with explosive residue — washing ashore in Turkish Black Sea provinces, and read the incidents as evidence that Black Sea drone routing regularly passes through Turkish coastal airspace and waters. Turkish authorities have not publicly attributed the hardware.
