FPV drone destroys FrankenSAM by striking a loaded RIM-7 missile directly

Published 10 October 2026 · updated 12 October 2026

Russian milblog Voyennyy Osvedomitel claims an FPV drone destroyed a Ukrainian FrankenSAM unit — a Buk-M1 launcher adapted to fire RIM-7 Sea Sparrow missiles — by hitting a loaded RIM-7 round and triggering detonation. The same engagement reportedly also destroyed a mobile air-defence pickup carrying an M2 Browning and a Novator armoured vehicle.
