Russia's new Filin cruise missile: 1,200 km range, 800 km/h, shared turbofan with Geran-5

Published

Ukrainian EW specialist Beskrestnov (Flash), citing GUR, documents a new Russian cruise missile designated Filin produced by NPO Molniya—the KAB guided-bomb manufacturer. Reported specifications: range up to 1,200 km, cruise speed approximately 800 km/h, warhead mass equivalent to one or two Shaheds, operational ceiling up to 6 km. Filin uses the same domestically produced turbofan already fitted to the S71 and Banderol missiles and can be launched from helicopters or UAVs without dedicated ground launch infrastructure, removing a logistical dependency of earlier Geran-family systems.
