NORINCO training Fuxi humanoid robots for Chinese crowd-control patrol and riot response

Published 16 October 2026

Chinese state defence conglomerate NORINCO is developing the Fuxi humanoid robot for domestic security roles, according to a Russian milblogger citing Chinese sources. Training programmes reportedly cover autonomous patrol, recognition of suspicious individuals, and response to mass-unrest scenarios. Tasking a major defence industrial actor — better known for armoured vehicles and artillery — with internal-security robotics indicates China is integrating military-grade AI development directly into its public-order apparatus.
