Geran fuze confirmed mechanical; 30-element CRPA anti-jam antenna variant reported

Published · updated

Ukrainian technical analysts examining recovered Geran hardware identify the drone’s contact fuze — the characteristic ‘whiskers’ — as a simple mechanical detonator: a metal tube and rod that close the circuit on physical impact, with no electronic sensor of any kind. Ukrainian OSINT separately reports that future Geran variants are being developed around a 30-element CRPA (Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna) for resistance to GPS jamming. A Russian pro-war channel independently corroborated that Geran warheads arm only in the terminal approach rather than during cruise, contrasting with Ukrainian drone designs that detonate even against a kinetic interceptor.
