Venator Technologies
A Kyiv UAS developer in the Octava group building the Flycat loitering munition and the AngryCat drone interceptor.
Venator Technologies is a Kyiv-based Ukrainian developer of unmanned aerial systems, founded in June 2022. It operates as part of the international Octava group, a holding active in cybersecurity and defence technology whose ultimate beneficial owner is Oleksandr Kardakov. The company works on both off-the-shelf and tailored UAS, with two systems at the centre of its public profile: the Flycat strike drone and the AngryCat interceptor.
Flycat is a loitering munition with an X-shaped wing that lets it manoeuvre on all axes, including in the final phase of an attack, so it can engage moving as well as static targets. It is reported to fly more than 45 km and carry a modular warhead of roughly 2.5 to 3.7 kg. AngryCat, unveiled in 2025 and shown at the LandEuro exhibition, is an interceptor aimed at hostile UAVs such as the Shahed, Lancet, Orlan and Zala. It has a total flight weight of about 12 kg and a 1 kg payload, cruises at around 250 km/h up to roughly 4,500 metres, and combines radar, acoustic and video/thermal guidance to operate autonomously, with the option to act as a kamikaze against ground targets once a threat is engaged. The pairing places Venator among the Ukrainian firms working both sides of the drone fight — strike and counter-drone — as part of the broader effort organised through programmes like Brave1 .
