Sych Tech

Sych Tech is a Ukrainian developer behind SYCH-AIR-S, a portable electronic-warfare module designed to counter FPV drones by detecting and suppressing their analog video channel. The device sequentially scans the radio spectrum; when it identifies an active FPV video signal, it retunes its transmitter to that frequency and emits dome-shaped interference for roughly ten seconds, followed by a three-second rescan. The developers say this targeted, time-sliced approach concentrates power on real threats, lowers energy consumption and reduces interference with friendly communications compared with continuous full-band jamming.

The broader SYCH-AIR line is a compact, low-cost build assembled around commercial FPV video transmitters and a small microcontroller with an OLED display, in single-band, dual-band and tri-band configurations across the 1.2, 3.3 and 5.8 GHz frequencies. The units are small and light, running from a lithium-polymer battery, and are suitable for mounting on ground positions and aerial platforms — fitting the trend of cheap, distributed counter-FPV electronic warfare on the front.

Reporting indicates SYCH-AIR-S is fielded with units of Ukraine’s defence forces, with a volunteer fundraising campaign supplying modules to elements of the Main Intelligence Directorate, the 155th Mechanized Brigade and the 12th Azov Brigade. The team has signalled intent to develop a dedicated detector with integrated suppression. Sych Tech works in the same counter-FPV space as detector-and-jammer makers like BlueBird Tech and Kvertus . Its headquarters, founding year and leadership are not disclosed. (The name “Sych” is also used for an unrelated Ukrainian reconnaissance-strike drone; the two are not connected.)
