Sine.Engineering

GPS-free positioning and jam-resistant mesh datalink modules for drones operating in contested airspace.

Sine.Engineering is a Lviv-based defence-tech firm, founded in 2022 by Andriy Chulyk, that builds communication and positioning hardware for drones flying in jammed, GPS-denied airspace. Its core product, SineLink, is a radio module that serves two roles at once: a frequency-hopping mesh datalink that resists jamming and lets one operator coordinate several aircraft, and a satellite-free positioning system. For positioning, ground beacons broadcast to the drone, which fixes its location from the time the signals take to arrive — a method inspired by time-of-flight ranging rather than satellite navigation.

The company began as a counter-drone team and pivoted to resilient connectivity after identifying GPS denial and a contested radio spectrum as the central problems on the front. Sine reports that its modules are used by more than 100 UAV manufacturers, including large Ukrainian drone makers, and abroad; those client figures are self-reported. Its work sits alongside other Ukrainian GPS-free autonomy efforts such as NORDA Dynamics , which approaches the same jamming problem through onboard computer vision rather than a radio-beacon network.
