Realgold
Ukrainian maker of domestically produced brushless motors for FPV and interceptor drones.
Realgold is a Ukrainian company producing its own line of brushless electric motors for drones. It offers three models — the 2807, 3110 and 3115 — designed for FPV drones built on 7-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch frames respectively, and says each can be adapted to a customer’s requirements. Alongside its standard FPV range, the company also makes motors tailored for interceptor drones. Realgold presented the line publicly at the Defense Tech Valley 2025 exhibition.
The company manufactured its first batch in January 2025 and has since scaled to around 10,000 motors a month. It has said it could reach as much as 100,000 a month without significant additional investment if demand warranted. At the time it presented the motors, Realgold sourced finished parts from China while carrying out winding in Ukraine, and set a target of 70% localization by the end of 2025.
Motors are one of the components Ukraine has worked hardest to localize, given a historic reliance on Chinese imports — an effort backed across the country’s defence-technology ecosystem, including the state cluster Brave1 . The brushless motor has proven one of the harder FPV components to substitute at scale: it demands precision winding, balanced rotors and consistent magnets, and for much of the war Ukrainian assemblers bought finished units from Chinese suppliers. Realgold’s pitch is that the winding and final assembly can be done at home even while some raw parts are still imported, with the share of domestic content rising as it brings more of the process in-house.
Realgold has also waded into a policy argument that runs through the whole sector, contending that domestic producers are disadvantaged because they pay full value-added tax on their inputs while many imported motors enter Ukraine without the same duties — a gap it says inflates the cost of locally made parts and slows the very import-substitution the state is trying to encourage. The company is one of several Ukrainian motor makers, alongside larger entrants pushing into six-figure monthly output, racing to wean Kyiv’s drone production off foreign supply chains.
