Oko Camera

Oko Camera is a Kyiv-based optronics firm, founded in 2022, that designs and manufactures uncooled long-wave infrared (LWIR) thermal imaging modules for unmanned aerial vehicles, ground robots and autonomous navigation systems. Its flagship line, Oko Pro, is built around a 640x480 microbolometer sensor with a 17-micron pixel pitch and thermal sensitivity rated below 30 mK. The camera exposes dual MIPI CSI-2 and USB 2.0 interfaces, letting it stream uncompressed Y16 video to artificial-intelligence algorithms while feeding a processed 8-bit stream to a human operator at the same time. It ships in seven lens variants from 6 mm to 150 mm and is compatible with Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA Jetson computing platforms.

The company markets Oko Pro as engineered entirely from Ukrainian and European components, with what it describes as zero Chinese parts and proprietary electronics developed in-house — a positioning that responds to supply-chain and component-sovereignty concerns across Ukraine’s drone sector. Oko Camera holds status with Brave1 , the Ukrainian government’s defence-technology cluster, and has been listed in Forbes’ rising-startup rankings. It sits among a group of domestic thermal-sensing suppliers — alongside peers such as Odd Systems — that are working to localise optics and detector integration for low-visibility targeting and reconnaissance.
