Odd Systems

Kyiv maker of domestic thermal cameras and FPV interceptor and strike drones.

Odd Systems is a Kyiv-based defence-technology company founded in 2023 that designs and manufactures thermal imaging cameras and FPV drones in Ukraine. Its best-known products are the Kurbas-256 and Kurbas-640 thermal cameras, infrared imagers built specifically for first-person-view drones; the company says it controls the hardware and low-level software in-house, part of a wider effort to localise components that Ukraine has historically imported. At launch the Kurbas-256 was priced from around $250 per unit in batch orders, undercutting comparable imported cameras. Alongside the cameras the company builds the Horska-12 aerial interceptor and the Stus-7 and Lupynis-10 strike FPV drones; many of its products are named after Ukrainian cultural figures persecuted under Soviet rule.

The company is part of Ukraine’s Brave1 defence-technology cluster, and its FPV drones and interceptors have been reported in combat use on the front line. In July 2025 Odd Systems announced a strategic partnership with the Danish defence prime Terma to co-develop a low-cost, AI-powered drone interceptor, combining Odd Systems’ drone platforms and imaging work with Terma’s sensor and integration expertise. Beyond hardware, the company has described work on a camera-based autonomy software platform intended to let interceptors detect and track targets automatically.
