General Cherry
Ukrainian counter-drone maker mass-producing the Bullet anti-Shahed interceptor and a range of FPV and strike drones.
General Cherry (Ukrainian: Heneral Chereshnia) is a Ukrainian defence-tech manufacturer that emerged during the full-scale war, registered in September 2023 and led by co-founder Yaroslav Hryshyn. Its team was drawn in part from volunteers who worked on the Delta situational-awareness system, and the company’s name nods to Melitopol, the cherry-growing city in occupied Zaporizhzhia oblast that several of its staff come from. From a standing start it has built a counter-drone product line, with the Bullet fixed-wing interceptor as its best-known platform — designed to detect and destroy Russian Shahed/Geran-type strike drones, reported to reach around 309 km/h, and offered in day, night, and terminal-guidance variants. A separate interceptor, AIR Speed, is reported to reach about 236 km/h against small, fast threats.
The firm has since expanded into longer-range strike. In 2026 it unveiled the Khmarynka, a catapult-launched fixed-wing kamikaze drone with a payload of up to roughly 7 kg, a range of about 50 km, and endurance up to an hour, positioned as a cheap, mass-produced system for striking targets at tactical depth and exhausting Russian air defences. An initial batch of 150 units was transferred to Ukrainian forces at no cost for field feedback.
General Cherry has scaled into one of Ukraine’s larger drone producers — reporting more than 50,000 FPV drones a month across a growing line of codified models — and lists products through the Brave1 defence marketplace. Forbes Ukraine reported first-half 2025 revenue of UAH 1.5 billion against a full-year projection of UAH 7 billion, and the company has been seeking international investors and bank lending to fund expansion. It has pursued markets abroad through a planned joint venture with US firm Wilcox Industries to build drones in the United States, and advanced to the second phase of the Pentagon’s Drone Dominance Program.
