Delta is Ukraine’s battlefield situational-awareness and command-and-control system — the digital backbone that turns a flood of reconnaissance into a single, shared operating picture. Built originally by the volunteer engineering collective Aerorozvidka and now run as a state system under Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence, it became central to the war after the 2022 Russian invasion and is used across the armed forces from headquarters down to front-line units.

The system’s job is fusion. Delta ingests data from a wide range of contributors — reconnaissance units, commercial and military drones, ground sensor networks, satellite imagery, foreign intelligence partners and vetted civilian observers — and plots it as geolocated objects on a live map any authorised unit can see in a browser. That cloud-based, device-agnostic design is deliberate: commanders and crews reach the same picture from a laptop or phone without specialised hardware, and the architecture is built to NATO interoperability standards, which has let Delta feature in alliance exercises.

Increasingly the interesting work is the software’s automation layer. Delta’s machine-vision component, branded Avengers, is designed to scan drone and satellite footage and automatically flag suspected enemy equipment, compressing the time between detection and a decision. That places Delta at the centre of the question analysts now ask about Ukraine’s “kill web” — whether the country has, in practice, fielded the kind of combined command-and-control system that larger militaries are still trying to build.

Delta does not fight on its own. It sits at the hub of an ecosystem of Ukrainian tools that feed and read it, including ComBat Vision , Griselda and the acoustic-sensor network Zvook .
